Spooks S9 DVD Competition

We have a winner!!!

The competition closed on 17 March 2011. A massive THANK YOU to everyone who submitted an entry. We received many entries from the US, UK, South Africa, France, Germany, Slovenia, Spain, Netherlands, Australia, Finland and the Czech Republic. Spooks and Nicola fans are truly an international crowd!

The Answers

The answer to Question 1 was episode 907. Nicola provided audio commentary to only one episode for the Series 9 box set. This was mentioned in this Post.

The answer to Question 2 was TWO featurettes only. Again, this was mentioned in this Post.

We were a little disappointed to see a fairly large number of incorrect entries, mostly wrong answers to Question 2. For the Series 9 box set, there were two featurettes plus audio commentaries for two episodes (901 & 907). In order to avoid confusion over whether the audio commentaries should be considered a featurette, we specifically started question 2 by saying, “apart from the audio commentaries …”. On 11 March 2011, we gave you a chance to correct your entries, by posting an update on this page, as well as posting a Tweet about it. Sadly, no one took up our offer for you to amend your answer.

So, after all that’s been said and done, we put all of the entries into a hat and came up with a winner and it is :

Kerry D of the UK

We have emailed Kerry to congratulate her.

THANK YOU once again for your support of Spooks, Nicola and this fan site.

Spooks Region 2 DVD box sets re-issued

Spooks Region 2 DVD box sets

On 28 February 2011, the entire Series 1 to 8 Region 2 DVD box sets for Spooks will be re-issued.

The company which used to produce the Spooks DVD box sets for Kudos was Contender Home Entertainment Group. Contender was taken over by E1 Entertainment Group (“E1”) in July 2007. Since existing stock of the old Spooks DVD box sets was getting low, we assume that E1 took this opportunity to re-issue the Series 1 to 8 box sets which now shows the new name of the Group which produced the box sets. We believe this is why in recent months, fans were unable to order old DVD box sets from vendors such as Amazon.

The good news is that the box sets are once again available to fans. The bad news is that most of the box sets will be re-issued at a new price of between £25.99 to £29.99. The lone exception being Series 1, which will be re-issued at a very reasonable £12.99. This is unfortunate since up until late 2010, one could still purchase Series 1 to 7 DVD box sets for Spooks at the very reasonable price of £11.99.

It would appear that no new artwork will be used for the re-issued DVD box sets. It is unlikely that the re-issued  box sets will contain new or additional Extras. Features such as the episode commentaries would have been done at the time the show was filming and if an Extra isn’t already there, then it would be difficult to come up with it now, so many years after the fact. In addition, to request an actor to participate in an Extra, it would have been written into his contract. So again, if the requirement was not previously there, it would be highly unlikely for Kudos to renegotiate an old contract just so that an actor/actress is asked to come back and do more Extras.

One would hope that with the re-issued Series 1 to 8 box sets, they will take the trouble to re-do the navigation menus in the earlier series, which were not only clunky (remember that stupid spy having to break into the grid and no one knowing quite where to click in order to access a particular feature?) but looks very outdated by now. If you have trouble navigating the clunky menus or locating the Extras in the earlier series, checkout HERE.

The Spooks Series 9 DVD box set will be released by Universal Playback. You can read about that release HERE.

Update 27 February 2011

As of today, Series 1, 2, 3, 5 & 7 are selling on Amazon UK at £12.50, that is, more or less the same price before the re-issue. Better grab these whilst you ca, because the prices on Amazon go up and down like a yo-yo on a daily basis. £12.50 per series is a very reasonable price for 6 to 10 episodes of top quality writing and acting. Remember, the low prices only apply once you’ve checked out your shopping cart, not whilst the item remains in your shopping cart/wishlist.

Availability on Amazon UK

Here are the links to the re-issued box sets which are available on Amazon. If you click on these links and complete the purchase within a specified time, this fansite will earn a small commission which will be donated towards charity. Read about the Shop for Charity feature HERE.

Nicola Guest Stars in Being Human 305

Nicola has filmed a guest appearance for Series 3 of Being Human, which will be aired sometime in January on 20 February 2011 in the UK (see our latest update below). She plays a health inspector / social worker called Wendy.

We first became aware of her involvement with the show in August 2010 when the BBC released this promotion clip featuring Philip John, one of the Directors of Being Human. “[There is] a lot of comedy [in] this series,” he said. “We’ve got fantastic comic guest performers – Nicola Walker, who plays Wendy, [is] just staggering.”

Being Human is what American TV writers call a “dramedy”. i.e. part drama, party comedy. The first two series have been rating successes in the UK. The three leads, Aiden Turner, Russell Tovey and Lenora Crichlow are all very capable actors in their own right. Remake rights of this show have been sold to the US and we understand that a US version is currently being filmed.

Read what Nicola had to say about her guest appearance in the 2010 Ian Wylie interview.

After the gloom and doom in Series 9 of Spooks, we cannot wait to Nicola in a comedic role!

Cannot view the video?

For the benefit of fans who gets the dreaded “video not available in your area” notice when they try to play this video :

The only reference to Nicola comes at around the 0.59 mark when director Philip John said, “[There is] a lot of comedy [in] this series … We’ve got fantastic comic guest performers – Nicola Walker, who plays Wendy, [is] just staggering.” For the rest of the video, it was just Philip John talking about his experiences in directing 3 episodes of Series 3 of Being Human. Wonder if this means that Nicola’s guest starring role will appear in more than one episode? One can only hope.

Update 14 December 2010

Being Human Series 3 will commence broadcast in the UK in January 2011. UK fans, please keep a look out for programme transmission dates.

Update 18 December 2010

Philip John directed episodes 303, 305 and 306 of Series 3 of Being Human. Nicola could appear in one or more of these three episodes.

Update 7 January 2011

The Being Human Series 3 Press Pack is out and you can access it HERE. Nicola will appear in episode 305, to be aired towards the end of February 2011.

In an interview which is available as part of the BBC Press Pack, Sinaed Keenan (who plays Nina in Being Human) has this to say about Nicola :

Nicola Walker – episode five playing Wendy the social worker, incredible – I think she should come back and social work elsewhere in the show.

I think we would all second that!

Update 12 January 2011

Being Human Series 3 will begin transmission on BBC3 on Sunday, 23 January 2011 at 9pm. At this rate and if Nicola is scheduled to appear in episode 5, we should all mark 20 FEBRUARY 2011 as the date to tune into the show, unless, of course, you’re also a fan of Being Human in which case start watching as from 23rd January 2011! 😀

Update 13 January 2011

Sinead Keenan, a cast regular in Being Human Series 3, had this to say when she gave an online tour of the new set. “This is episode 5, where things get hectic.” That would be Nicola’s guest episode. In the 2010 Ian Wylie Interview, these comments were made

[Nicola]  plays health visitor Wendy who stumbles into the house occupied by the comedy drama’s resident werewolf, vampire and ghost.

“She thinks she’s having a bad day. But because she doesn’t know anything about the people in the house, she doesn’t realise just how bad a day she could be having.”

Can. Not. Wait!

Watch the on-set tour via this YouTube video and get to know the set where Nicola will spend her episode in.

Wonder if Nicola cut her hair short for this role? She looked like she had a shorter hair cut when she was photographed for the Season’s Greetings promotional still, and that might have been around the time she filmed her guest episode for Being Human, after filming on Spooks Series 9 wrapped in August 2010.

Update 18 January 2011

In an interview with Digital Spy, Sinead Keenan continued to be very complimentary about Nicola’s guest appearance in episode 5 of Series 3 of Being Human and described her as “amazing”. You can read the interview HERE.

Update 19 January 2011

According to the official BBC blog for Being Human 3, Nicola’s guest episode is titled “The Longest Day”. It must be referring to the kind of day which her character, Wendy the social worker/house inspector, is having when she has to inspect “Honolulu Heights”, the new home for the three main characters.

Episode 305 is written by Sarah Phelps. She also wrote the 2007 version of Oliver Twist in which Nicola had a small guest role.

Update 23 January 2011

Ian Wylie interviewed the cast of Being Human for his blog, which you can read HERE. Here’s what Russell Tovey has to say about Nicola’s forthcoming guest appearance :

Nicola was amazing and very funny. She’s involved in the rediscovery of Herrick storyline as a social worker who ends up being assigned to Herrick’s case. So we all become linked and she’s unaware of the fact that we’re all supernatural beings.

For those not familiar with Being Human, Herrick is a recurring character who is a vampire.

Update 25 January 2011

From Twitter (original tweet from anglophenia which was retweeted by flip18)

Being Human 3 will be shown in the US on BBC America starting from 19 February 2011, which means Nicola’s guest appearance in episode 305 will be shown on 19 March 2011. US fans, mark your diairies!

Update 3 February 2011

The BBC has released a little more information about episode 305 of Being Human and you can read about it HERE. This article reveals a little more about how Herrick the vampire reappears in the lives of the three lead characters, but not much about the character played by Nicola.

Update 13 February 2011

Screencaps from the trailer for episode 305 of Being Human, to air at 9:00 pm on BBC Three on Sunday, 20 February 2011

Update 22 February 2011

Fans with access to the BBC iPlayer have until 27 February 2011 to watch Being Human 305. US fans, please remember to mark your diaries for 19 March 2011, which is the date when BBC America will air Being Human 305 in the US.

Check out our Being Human page for more info on this programme, and a look at the photo of Nicola as Wendy which has been released by the BBC. As the programme has now aired, we will close the Comments section here, but you can continue to leave comments on the Being Human page.

Galleries

Update 5 January 2011

We have now uploaded Desktop Images and Avatars for your use and enjoyment :

Desktop Images

Avatars

Some of these are transferred from the old fansite, and some are new contributions.

Many of these Desktop Images and avis have been created by using the screencaps which are available on this fansite. We know that a fair number of fans have been busy downloading these screencaps in recent weeks. You are most welcome to do that. Some of you have taken the trouble to let us know why you have been downloading these sceencaps and for that, we thank you. If you are going to create Desktop Images and/or avatars from these screencaps (or by using your own screencaps), it would be lovely if you could send us your creations for display on this fansite so that other fans can enjoy them too. ☺

Update 2 January 2011

All of the galleries have migrated from the old site.

We have received some smashing new desktop images and avatars which will become available soon.

If you would like to contribute either desktop images or avis, please Email Us with a zip file. All contributions will be gratefully received. We will let you know as soon as your contributions have been accepted for publication.

On 19 November 2010, we said :

We are in the process of moving all of the images which were available on the old fansite over to the new fansite. Since we are using completely new and different software, we have to move the galleries across manually, so please bear with us. For now, we will stay with the screencaps etc. which were available from the old fansite. In due course, we may add more screencaps from the different shows.

We have received a number of offers from fans of screencaps and desktop images. Thank you, but we are not currently accepting such contributions. We will let you know when we are ready to ask for your help in this area. 🙂

Making available screencaps, and avatars and desktop images made from those screencaps is about as far as we want to go in terms of any perceived breaches of other people’s copyright. We will not be providing download links for any audio or video files in relation to Nicola’s work, unless those downloads are specially permitted or sanctioned by the relevant copyright owners (such as that promotional video for Being Human).

Spooks Series 9 DVD news

Amazon UK has a short video, lasting about 1:06 minutes, which shows many cast members talking about Series 9. Once you’re on the Amazon webpage, click underneath the product image to bring up the video. It shows a brief glimpse of Nicola, in her dressing room, with Peter Firth, talking about the general tone of Series 9.

The UK/Region 2 DVD boxset of Series 9 is still on schedule to be released, in the UK, on 28 February 2011, and is listed at £25.99.

This post will be updated as more news about the DVD extras become available. For this Series, the DVD Extras are produced by Helen James Productions, and will include an analysis of Harry and Ruth’s relationship!

Update : 21 January 2011

From the CultBox website comes news of the Series 9 DVD extras and they include :

  • a feature called “The Cost of being a Spy”

It is unclear from this report how many episodes will Nicola be providing a commentary.

Update : 5 February 2011

Universal Playback are doing the Spooks Series 9 DVD extras in conjunction with Helen James Productions. Its website has a page on Spooks which gives very brief cast biographies and episode guides for Series 9. The most interesting bits from this website are these photos :

Nicola in Season’s Greetings

Season’s Greetings is a play written by Alan Ayckbourn in 1980 which had its world premiere on 25 September 1980 at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round, Scarborough, and its London Premiere on 28 January 1982 at the Greenwich Theatre. There has been many productions of this play over the years. According to the description in the webpage for this production at the National Theatre, the play offers a seriously entertaining look at the misery and high jinks of an average family Christmas.

In the 2010 National Theatre production, Nicola plays Rachel, the sister of Belinda (played by Catherine Tate) who is the female lead of this play. In the play, Rachel is described as “a little older than her sister, Belinda and less conventionally pretty …”. Not sure about the “less conventionally pretty” bit. Nicola can play them in all shapes and sizes, conventionally or unconventionally pretty, sane/manic, demure/man eater etc.

The Season’s Greetings page on the National Theatre website can be found HERE. Click through the rehearsal photos and you will see a very pretty photo of Nicola, hard at work during rehearsals (see above).

(*the Rehearsal Gallery seems to be broken at the moment. We have emailed the National Theatre about this and they have indicated that they will look into it and fix it soon.)

Update 25 November 2010

The Rehearsal Gallery’s been fixed. Yay!

Thanks to the National Theatre, we have also been given permission to display this colour version of that rehearsal photo. There is a slightly large version of this photo in the Galleries section.

The first batch of 29 performances, to run from 1 December 2010 to 4 January 2011, have been sold out. The National Theatre recently announced a second batch of 39 performances, to run from 12 January 2011 till 13 March 2011 and tickets have been selling quite briskly. If you wish to catch Nicola’s performance, you will need to get tickets without further delay!

Press night will be held on 8 December 2010. We will be updating this post with Reviews and press night photos on 9 December 2010.

Update  8 December 2010

The National Theatre has now put up a Production Gallery on the Season’s Greetings page which you can find HERE. There’s one picture of Nicola on her own and a second picture of her with two other cast members.

The Reviews are in and you can find links to them and other resources relating to this play HERE.

Update 12 December 2010

There is now available on the National Theatre Season’s Greetings website a short video of interview with cast members who share their thoughts on Christmas. You can access it HERE. Nicola appears in the beginning of this interview. If for any reason you cannot access the video or it gets pulled so that its no longer available, we have a transcript of what Nicola said HERE (in the second part of that Post).

Update 14 December 2010

Nicola has been interviewed by Whats on Stage about her role in Season’s Greetings. You can access the article HERE.

Update 17 December 2010

The National Theatre will stage a Theatrical Quiz on 21 December 2010 at 6 pm where the Season’s Greetings cast, led by Catherine Tate, will compete against the Hamlet cast, led by Claire Higgins, on their knowledge of all things relating to theatre. The event will be moderated by Emma Freud. Tickets at ₤3.50/₤2.50 each. The event will last about 45 minutes. There is a maximum of four members in each team, and sadly, Nicola was not picked for the Season’s Greetings team (to be known as the Amazing Ayckbourns).

Marianne Elliot, the Director of Season’s Greetings, will give a talk on the show on 4 January 2011.

Each of Mark Gatiss, Catherine Tate and David Troughton of the Season’s Greetings cast, will give talks, on different dates, in February.

You can read about these event at the “Platforms” section at the National Theatre website HERE.

Update 22 December 2010

Congratulations to the Amazing Ayckbourns, who won the 2010 National Theatre Annual Theatre Quiz. Its a pity that the National Theatre has declined to publish a list of the questions and answers which formed this quiz.

Nicola on Christmas

Towards the end of 2007 when Nicola was doing publicity for Oliver Twist (she played Sally), she gave an interview to Whats on TV where she talked about her views on Christmas. The video of this short interview used to be available on the Whats on TV website, but sadly they must have archived the video because the link is no longer live. So for the benefit of fans who are interested in Nicola’s views on Christmas, here is a transcript of that interview.

Interviewer (“Int”) : What are you planning this Christmas?

NW : Erm, I don’t know, cos I’m in that awful phase, that thing where you’re all rowing. I’m rowing with my husband, I’m rowing with my dad, his rowing with his brother, about where we go. That for me has now slightly become Christmas, where you row about where you’re driving, for how long, for what day. And its like having trumps, cards, where you sort of swap them. I’ll swap you Boxing Day for Christmas Day if you do the Christmas Eve. I don’t know where I’m going to be, but I know that I’ll probably be in a car, driving somewhere, for most of it.

Int : Who usually wins, these Christmas disputes?

NW : (Smiles) Me, yeah.

Int : So you know where you’re going to be?

NW : I do, secretly, (laughs), I know exactly where I’m going to be, on Christmas Day. (Nods) yep.

Int : And what do you particularly like or dislike about Christmas?

NW : I think I really like the build up to Christmas, that’s fantastic, putting the tree up is brilliant, and then everything from about 11 o’clock on Christmas morning, it starts going downhill for me. Then its all the law of diminishing returns after that, after you’ve opened the presents, its all downhill. But then you’ve also got New Year’s to look forward to, when one could get raucously drunk and embarrass oneself in front of one’s family.

Int : Or you could start getting drunk on Christmas Day …

NW : Well I’ll obviously, actually, be watching Oliver Twist, that’s what I’ll be doing.

(This was three years before Nicola knew that she was going to be in Season’s Greetings at the National in 2010!)

Update 12 December 2010

National Theatre/Season’s Greetings Cast Interview

The National Theatre has just put up a video of interview of the cast of Season’s Greetings, with their thoughts on Christmas. You can watch the video here, by clicking on “cast interview”. Nicola was interviewed together with Oliver Chris at the beginning of this video. In case the video is not available to non-UK IP addresses, or becomes unavailable, here is a transcript of that interview :

Oliver Chris : We eat turkey.
NW : We do that as well, I think we often do that.
OC : Do You?
NW : Do you listen to Phil Spector’s Greatest Christmas Hits?
OC : I love that, I love that, that is the best album.
NW : That is, isn’t it.
OC : I was going to give everyone that for first night presents, I won’t bother now.
NW : I think we are really traditional in my family. I don’t think we do anything strange. We adhere to all the …
OC : Do you argue?
NW : We do all the things you’re meant to do at Christmas.
OC : Argue, fight, watch telly
NW : Yeah, argue, fight, laugh, reminisce …
OC : Stuff your face until you can’t eat any more.
NW : Yeah …
OC : With a chocolate orange …
NW : Yep, we keep eating.

Nicola Walker : Foodie!

Nicola was recently interviewed by the Financial Times for their Food & Drink Section. You can read the article, published on 26 November 2010, here.

As always, interesting and amusing tidbits (or should that be morsels?) of information. Nicola’s answers are refreshingly honest and down to earth. She sounds like a real person, compared to the rail thin actresses who only inhale air for sustenance!

Come on, writers and producers, Nicola is waaaayyyy over due for a lead role in a comedy! Ms. Catherine Tate, do you think you can help?

Nicola on cover of Spooks Series 8 US DVD Boxset

Finally, after all these years, Kudos have included Nicola in a prominent position on the cover of a Spooks DVD Boxset – see the cover of the US Series 8 DVD boxset above. THANK YOU Kudos and the BBC! Though it does beg the question, why wasn’t Nicola included in the cover art for the UK/Region 2 release of Series 8 back in September 2010?

Being featured on the cover of the Region 1 DVD boxset will, we hope, raise Nicola’s profile with the US entertainment industry once more, i.e. amongst fans, US casting agents, writers and directors. Warner Brothers has recently invested US$100 million in the studios which they have been using for the Harry Potter series. This can only mean that there will be more US productions to be made in the UK. Quite independently of this investment, there are already many US movies, mini series and TV shows being filmed and produced in the UK at the moment. There has to be a part, or two or three, amongst all this activity for Nicola! The last time Nicola had such a high profile associated with a show was in the Touching Evil days.

Nicola was also on the cover of the Series 5 DVD boxset when it was released in the US. However, it was in a less prominent position and most  of the other cast members were also featured. There are a number of other firsts for this US release :

  • Series 8 of MI-5 (as the show is known in the US) will be released in January 2011, which is way faster than any of the previous seven series has been released in the US and
  • Priced at US$27.99, this is much cheaper than the UK/Region 2 version which was released back in September and currently still priced at £25.69 on Amazon UK.

The UK/Region 2 DVD boxset of Series 8 had very little in terms of interesting DVD extras. Via a tweet from bccmee, it would appear that the same is true for the US/Region 1 DVD boxset of Series 8.

Here’s hoping that the Extras included with the DVD boxset for Series 9 will feature much more contribution from Nicola. It has to, since she consistently acted every one else off the screen in Series 9 😀

Nicola Walker Fansite 2.0

Hello, g’day and welcome. If you’re looking for information on the most magnificent actress in the world, Nicola Walker, you’ve come to the right place! We look different, you say? Well, we’ve had a little bit of work done, a nip here, a tuck there. Oh alright, we’ve had a complete facelift. What do you think?

The Nicola Walker fansite was first set up in 2006 by flip18. We have flip to thank for having kept us informed of all of Nicola’s activities as an actress for the past 4 years!. In September 2010, administration of the fansite was transferred to us.

At flip’s suggestion and with her encouragement, we decided to give the fansite a complete makeover by using some of the latest available open source content management software, such as WordPress. You are now reading the results of our labour. This is intended to give Nicola fans a fuller and richer experience in terms of celebrating her work.

As we are going with a new format, it will take us a little while to transfer all of the old content to the new fansite, so please bear with us. If you cannot find your favorite features from the old fansite, please be patient and check back in a couple of days.

We will also try and beef up various sections of the fansite and will require your help. For example, in the CV>Guides section, you can submit a recap of shows in which Nicola has appeared in. Head over to our post on Guides for requirements in this respect.

The only feature which we may not bring over to the new fansite is the schedule of TV shows and repeats. Please read our post on this topic here.

So, the Nicola Walker fansite 2.0 – like it, hate it, got some other suggestion? Leave a comment below, or if you want to discuss matters in private, Contact Us. For things like typos, omissions and inaccuracies, we would prefer that you Contact Us instead of leaving a comment below.

Please be generous with your comments, and gentle with your criticism 🙂

The 2010 Ian Wylie Interview

Ian Wylie is one of the most respected journalists in the UK who writes about its entertainment industry. He is also a Spooks fan and has kept other Spooks fans highly entertained, in the past few years, with his interviews with members of the Spooks cast and his previews of forthcoming episodes of Spooks.

On 5th October 2010, Ian published an interview with Nicola which is a must-read for all Nicola Walker fans. Nicola has not done a lot of interviews in recent years. Of the interviews which she has given in the recent past, she spoke mostly about the characters she played and very little else about her private life. In the Ian Wylie interview, Nicola was very candid about her character in Spooks, Ruth Evershed, the reaction from fans she’s met and a little about her other projects, such as Being Human and Season’s Greetings.

You can access the interview HERE.

31thirtyone is a charitable photographic project run by photographer Matt Humphrey who aimed at taking 31 portraits of actors and celebrities in as many days. You can read all about the project on the 3131 website.

This year, Nicola was one of the actresses who’s portrait was included in the project. Matt would prefer that you see her portrait, as well as the other 31 portraits (yes, he ended up with one extra this year, which you can read all about in his 3131 Blog) on his website, which is why we cannot show you a thumbnail of the portrait. Its a wonderful black and white photo of Nicola which shows her laughing very spontaneously at something or someone.

The charity to be benefited this year is Colitis & Crohn UK, again details can be found here.

Only 31 copies of each celebrity’s portrait will be printed and each will sell for £31.31 (which does not include shipping charges).  Matt will ship anywhere in the world. As of this writing, we believe that there are still copies of Nicola’s portrait for sale. Here is where you can place an order.

Support Nicola, support Colities & Crohn UK and buy a copy of Nicola’s portrait!

UPDATE : 1 December 2010

Matt has now produced a short promotional clip about his project, which features soundbites from a few of the actors/actresses who sat for him, though sadly not Nicola (not in the clip anyway). Nicola’s portrait does make a fleeting appearance. You can watch the clip here. Here’s hoping that Matt has longer footage tucked away somewhere else that does include a comment (or two, or three) from Nicola about her portrait. Matt has also talked about producing a coffee table book about this project. Now that would be interesting.

UPDATE : 8 December 2010

Matt has just tweeted that the 31thirtyone project has raised ₤11,000 todate. Good job, Matt. Show your support for the project and for Nicola, buy a project and help raise the total amount even higher!

UPDATE : 1 September 2011

According to @31thirtyone, copies of Nicola’s 3131 portrait are still available. Support Nicola, support a good cause, please buy a copy of this fabulous portrait!

Guides

Update 2 January 2011

Guides to all of Nicola’s audio work have now been done. Click HERE for a list of those Guides. We will now turn our efforts to her other work.

On 19 November 2010, we said :

Can you help us?

We would like to include recaps of all of the shows in which Nicola has made an appearance for the benefit of fans who have not seen a particular show, or to refresh your memory if you have seen a show but it was a long time ago. All of Nicola’s shows except for Spooks. There are already available online plenty of episode guides and recaps of Spooks – we will simply provide links to those recaps.

If you want to help, please email us and let us have the following information :

Your name : the name you wish to use as a credit for the recap
Name of the show, including series number and episode number/name
Recap, which should be between 300 to 500 words. Please refrain from discussing major plot lines of each show in case someone reading the recap has not yet seen that particular show. Its probably not necessary for you to provide us with images or screencaps, unless you wish to use a particular image or screencap.

Your contribution will be edited, where necessary or appropriate. If we receive contributions for the same episode or show from more than one person, we may mash these contributions together for a composite recap.

TV Schedule

One of the features from the old fansite which we are strongly inclined to discontinue is the TV Schedule which lists current and repeat showings of shows in which Nicola has made an appearance. That schedule only set out TV listings for the UK and is of not much use to Nicola fans who do not live in the UK.

What do you think? Do you want it back? If we are to bring it back, we would like to include TV listings from around the world. To do that, we will need your help. If you do not live in the UK, would you be prepared to keep an eye out for Nicola shows in you local TV listings and send us this information on a regular basis? Let us know, leave a comment below.

In her own words

I have recently come out of a rather intense relationship which ended badly; he died. I then threw myself into work – I am an analyst with one of the biggest security organizations in the world. Lately, my job has sort of overtaken my life and now I’m trying to get back on the bus and into the world of dating. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want a relationship, I do. But I’m not about to jump into one. I don’t jump into decisions at work and there’s no way I’ll jump into a relationship either. For now, I’m more interested in going out, having fun, and getting to know someone who will respect my job and all the time it requires of me. Occasionally, weird things happen to me because of my job; nothing that you should be afraid of, but just realize that if we get together, you’re in for a wild ride. I love funny guys who can hold me spellbound with a story or make me laugh until I cry. I also love creativity and passion. The right man should not only fascinate me but also bring out the best in me. We should push each other to be the greatest people we can be. If you’re comfortable in your own skin, have a strong sense of self and aren’t afraid to expose your flaws, I’m sure we’ll get along just fine. If it turns out that we make better friends, great, and if its more than that, then even better.

Editor : The first four comments below were received when this Profile was first published on the old fansite back in October 2010. However, under the old format, it was difficult for us to display comments to a particular entry. With our new format, leaving comments is easy, which is why we feel that the comments already given before should be displayed here.
