Nicola has signed on to a new TV project, Unforgotten. Here’s what we know from the official press release :
Unforgotten (previously known as The Forgotten) tells the story of an 39 year old cold investigation into the murder of a boy who was killed in 1976. The modern day investigation is run by DCI Cassie Stuart (played by Nicola) and DI Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar), who must re-examine the evidence and investigate the key suspects – Robert Greaves, Frank Philip Cross, Lizzie Wilton and Eric Slater – in order to close the case. The series utilises a multi-stranded narrative, set in different parts of the country, which explores and connects each of the principle characters.
Trevor Eve plays Sir ‘Frank’ Philip Cross, Bernard Hill portrays Father Robert Greaves, Ruth Sheen has been cast as Lizzie Wilton, while Tom Courtenay is set as Eric Slater. Beyond the principle cast, the thriller will feature a large guest cast which includes Gemma Jones (Marvellous), Brian Bovell (Death in Paradise), Cherie Lunghi (Casualty), Hannah Gordon (Hustle), Claire Goose (Mount Pleasant) Tamzin Malleson (Midsomer Murders), Peter Egan (Downton Abbey), and Frances Tomelty (Catastrophe).
Unforgotten, which has received an order for six episodes, was created by Undeniable scribe Chris Lang, who is penning the scripts and will serve as an executive producer alongside Mainstreet Pictures’ Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes. Combat Hospital‘s Tim Bradley is the series producer.
Production on Unforgotten is begins later [in March 2015] and is expected to last for 12 weeks. BBC Worldwide is a partner on the series and will handle global sales.
