The BBC has released a synopsis for Episode 1 of Series 2 and you can read it on this Page.
This Guardian article tells us that US actress/director, Diane Keaton, has bought the rights to do a US remake of Last Tango in Halifax. It is not envisaged that the original creator and writer of the show, Sally Wainwright, will have a large role to play in the US remake, scoring at most just an Associate Producer credit. The show, when made, will air on HBO in the US. However, plans for the remake are currently on hold until the show has completed its run in the US on PBS. It is unlikely that any of the original cast will be involved in the US remake. We can all debate till the cows come home whether or not there is any need for a US remake of this brilliant show. But for us, the best bit in the Guardian article comes in the last line – there will be a Series 3!!! Yay!!!

For weeks now, there’s been talk of a Series 3 for this show, with strong indications that Sally Wainwright has already started to write for next year’s episodes. A few hours before episode 6 of Series 2 aired today, the BBC made it official : There will be a Series 3!
