Rubbish

Rubbish is a radio comedy series about Martin Christmas, a local government officer, cynic and manic depressive. The show is written by Tong Bagley.

There were two series made of this programme, with 6 episodes in each series. Series 1 was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2006 and Series 2 was broadcast in 2007.

Nicola is listed as playing two characters in Series 1, ‘Alison’ and ‘Sarah’. ‘Sarah’ is an on-off girlfriend of Martin.

Thanks to a heads up from Frida of Finland, Rubbish series 1 is being repeated on BBC Radio 4 Extra. Episode 1 (Diversity) was broadcast on 18 January 2012 at 11:30 pm and will remain available on the BBC Radio iPlayer until 26 January 2012. There is no geographical restrictions on the BBC Radio iPlayer so fans from around the world can catch up with this programme.

Six degrees

Emma Kennedy is credited as having participated in Series 2. She is a good friend of Nicola’s, having shared a flat in London in the early days of their respective careers.

Russell Tovey is credited as having participated in Series 2. Russell is one of the leads in the TV programme, Being Human. Nicola is a guest star in Series 3 of Being Human.
