So jealous of all the fans who were able to see Nicola Walker in a play – any play, really. It’s basically a dream now. lol. To go to the UK and see her onstage. It’s probably a bit early but I was wondering: if Nicola were to be nominated for an Olivier for AVFtB, would it be for a supporting role or a lead role? I’m not familiar with the play, see, and I wanted to know, because if Beatrice was a lead role, then she would be up against some major names like Juliet Stevenson and Gillian Anderson. Either way, we’ll be supporting her all the way, right ladies? π
*PS: This site is amazing! I’ve been “lurking” for a while now, but my Nicola Walker-withdrawal is so intense I had to talk Nicola to fellow fans. π Thank goodness for this site! π
You now have the answer : the Olivier Awards nominations were announced on 9 March 2015. Nicola didn’t score a nomination, in either the lead or supporting categories. π On the other hand, the play did score 7 nominations in total, so congratulations to cast and crew. Details are listed in both entries for this play on this website.
I went to see the play yesterday and I would like to say how jaw dropping it was. All of the cast were intense and totally absorbing. It’s not often I’m able to sit through a play done in one act and not get fidgety and uncomfortable. Full credit must be given to the creative team who produced such a fine play. Nicola was of course outstanding as per usual and to be honest, I’m yet to see a play that Nicola has been in that has been anything less than outstanding. I look forward to her next playβ¦
My only regret is that when I saw her in the bar afterwards, I didn’t pluck up any courage to congratulate Nicola on her performance. Gutted.
You should have told Nicola how brilliant she was in the play! She doesn’t bite, you know. If you’re a regular visitor to this website and have read the various Close Encounters reports, you should know that Nicola ALWAYS has time for her fans π Glad you liked the play.
Thank you so very much to your wonderful site, for the early announcement of this play. Because of it I got a nice ticket and time off to cross the seas to see it and it was absolutely the most brilliant, powerful productionβ¦.a real privilege to see. Thank you!
I’m going!!! Thank you for the heads up! I missed her in curious and I’ll be darned if I will miss her again! Front row seats! *swoon* π
